New Search Engine Targets Import-Export Industry

Scottsdale, Arizona (Vocus) May 15, 2008 -- ImportGenius.com (http://www.importgenius.com) just released its powerful new search engine for the import-export industry. When users do a search, ImportGenius returns in-depth information about every related shipment processed by U.S. customs during the date range the user selects. For example, a search for "Pacific Cycle" instantly reveals the identity of this Wisconsin-based bicycle distributor's main overseas suppliers, Tianjin Fuji-Da Bicycle Co. Sunnex International Company, and Shenzhen Xidesheng Bicycle Co. With a few additional clicks, the precise details of all of their recent shipments are visible. An ocean container of 4,116 bicycles from Tianjin Fuji-Da Bicycle Co. was imported through the port of Oakland on March 30, 2008. A competitor could make valuable use of this data, learning more about Pacific Cycle's supplier relationships, their buying volume, and recent business trends.

ImportGenius also allows users to search by product type, quickly returning detailed information on all matching shipments that cleared U.S. customs during the chosen date range. For instance, a search for "ceramic tile" for the first two weeks of May 2008 reveals that 154 shipments entered the United States and provides contact information for both the importer and exporter of each. There is no faster way to identify competitors, learn about their import volumes, and discover where they source their products overseas.

Users can also combine searches to further refine the results. For example, a search for hockey skates imported by Nike reveals that the company imported 86 containers of Bauer hockey skates in the last twelve months. For each container ImportGenius shows the quantity (between 300 and 625 cartons), the manufacturer (Menxon Enterprise of Bangkok, Thailand), the arrival date and more.

ImportGenius.com (http://www.importgenius.com) earns money through monthly subscription packages targeting a range of business customers. Businesses can gain access to data on all shipments in single industry vertical for $399 per month.
