Interactive, Goal-Directed Search Engine Unveils Services Online
Lappeenranta, Finland (PRWEB) October 11, 2007 -- Faimous Web is proud to launch Faimous, a new fast-developing web service to enter the online world. It targets global Internet users seeking a more customized, interactive and organized online experience by combining three key features into one service:
* Search engine * Discussion forum * Goal management tool The idea for Faimous saw its first light when the founder and owner of Faimous Web, Mr. Mikko Makela, was suffering from a broken leg. He thought it would be extremely useful and efficient to have a web service that will find all the relevant services and information needed by a particular user, as conveyed through a search query that begins with the phrase ?I want to?? (eg. ?I want to have my leg fixed?).
Therefore, Faimous works in a three-fold manner. As a personalized search engine, Faimous allows users to suggest links and/or omit them depending on its relevancy to a particular search query. The results that show up on Faimous? search results page are directly compiled by the users.
By allowing links to closely match the search queries, users no longer have to sift through irrelevant link suggestions in order to find potentially useful information. With constant user contribution, the content on Faimous is self-regulated and frequently fine-tuned by users to meet their own needs.
Faimous also aims to be a social hub by providing a platform for online communities. Discussion groups, or forums, exist within this context to allow users to ask or answer questions pertaining to their related goals. An integrated communal framework enables users to track, store, and refer to all their discussions and corresponding information within this one framework.
Faimous understands the motivations behind user search behaviour and as such, attempts to address its needs. Internet users generally perform online searches in order to find information to fulfill a particular goal. Faimous intends to go a few steps beyond an ordinary search engine by providing a space for users to find, structure, and systematize their online information.
* For instance, if a user?s goal is buy a car, they would first type ?buy a car? into the Faimous search query box. * The user has the option of adding this task to his ?My Faims? page. * In this ?My Faims? page, the user is able to track all the links related to his query, as well as view the discussions related to it. In addition, he can set a deadline to his task. With this service, Faimous aspires to provide a one-stop web service to fulfill the dearth of such services online. As the Internet is oversaturated with content and media, Faimous wants to eliminate the clutter and allow users to get straight to the heart of their online needs, saving valuable time and resources. It attempts to provide intelligent assistance for people wanting to achieve their goals. The first version of Faimous was unveiled for beta use on February 1, 2007. The site was officially open to the public on April 16, 2007. As it is swiftly developing, it is undergoing preparation for the initiation of a newer version.
