Funky People Online Announces Official Launch, Introduces Business Directory and Forum
South Orange, NJ (PRWeb) January 11, 2007 -- Newly redesigned networking site Funky People online (www.FunkyPeopleonline.com) is pleased to announce its official launch and the addition of expanded services, including a Business Directory and a Forum-Bulletin Board.
Funky People online is a new Web portal that ties users' business, news, entrepreneurial and creative art form sources together in an online network. Targeting an audience of 25-55 year old professionals, business owners, artists and social activity seekers from many backgrounds, Funky People online is designed to let users reference, share and participate in content and activities that are relevant to their personal, cultural and family development.
The site features a Business Directory, eClassified Ads, Stock Updates, Financial News, Forum-Bulletin Board in its "Info Biz" section, an Artform Gallery showcasing creative talent, an Events Calendar and a Newsletter written by Founder and CEO of Funky People, LLC, Terry E. Alford.
Funky People online was conceptualized by a group of information technology professionals who saw the need to reduce the amount of mail forwards from their colleagues and contacts. Most importantly, they wanted to devise a personal, more interactive way to connect the very savvy Internet users to other individuals as it relates to information on news, health, wealth, politics and social awareness.
In March of 2006, Alford coined the banner (which was originally named for his 1990s music entertainment company, Funky People Records) and re-branded the collective with a new vision.
"I didn't want Funky People to only represent the creativity and interests of local artists and musicians," Alford says. "I wanted to also use the Internet medium to create a unique site that encompasses the broader and equally talented group of professionals, business proprietors and community service organization members."
In the spring of 2006, the first of several newsletters were published, followed in late July by the unofficial launch of the public web site, www.FunkyPeopleonline.com.
